The increase in bobblehead production has skyrocketed in the past five years (all anecdotal but it's so true right?). It seems everyone has their own bobblehead now. The people at RealClearSports talked about making my bobblehead but I thought that was a little too commercial. I'm not ready to sellout like that yet. But Clay Bucholtz made bobblehead history yesterday.
The Portland Sea Dogs, the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, gave out Clay Bucholtz bobbleheads last night. It was just over a year ago that Bucholtz threw a no-hitter against the Orioles (just slightly more impressive than no-hitting the Nationals). So, how is this historic? Well, Bucholtz was just send down from the majors to the Sea Dogs and pitched last night. That's right, he pitched on the same day the Sea Dogs gave away his bobblehead.
How did Bucholtz do? Bucholtz pitched seven innings allowing 5 hits and 3 runs, but the Sea Dogs fell 6-5 to the New Britain Rock Cats.
