Michael Phelps is going to cash-in big on his Olympic fame. The fact that a beer company would even think of using him as a sponsor after his DUI four years ago tells you just how huge this guy is. Phelps isn't the only one who can capitalize on his fame, though.
There's not much sports memorabilia for swimmers, but the items that are out there are skyrocketing on eBay. Take, for example, this autographed Michael Phelps trading card from 2004 Leaf Rookies & Stars collection:
Darren Rovell of CNBC interviewed a publisher at Beckett, who said the card was selling for just $30 a few weeks ago and is now netting around $500. Looks like I picked the wrong horse...
I really thought this was the year badminton was going to take off.
