Saying Goodbye to Manny Ramirez

by Ryan Hudson

Did the Red Sox give up too much? Yeah, probably. They're a better team in long-term, but in the short-term, you can't say that they have improved since yesterday. Trading away a future Hall-of-Famer, a reliever with a 97-mph fastball and a Major League outfielder, plus $7 million, all for Jason Bay, tells you how bad the Manny situation in Boston had become -- they had to move him, and they did.

There's no looking back now. Jason Bay is hitting fifth tonight, and the Red Sox "feel like a team for the first time in a while" said Theo Epstein today. The Manny Being Manny era is officially over in Boston.

Here's his last act in Fenway Park: packing his car, and driving off.

After the jump, Manny's SportsCenter commercial that you'll never see aired again.
