Burress Suspended One Game For Violating Team Rules

by Ryan Hudson

The NFL news just keeps rolling in today.

The New York Giants have suspended wide receiver Plaxico Burress two weeks, including the game against Seattle on Oct. 5, for insubordination. The Giants have a bye this week.

From Jay Glazer (who also broke the Matt Millen firing - there are other NFL reporters working, right?):

FOXSports.com has learned that the Giants have suspended Burress for two weeks for failing to show up for work on Monday and not responding to several phone calls by the team to explain his unexcused absence both Monday and Tuesday.

In three games this season, Burress has 18 catches for 259 yards and one touchdown. Just three weeks after signing a new contract with the Giants, that included $11 million in guaranteed money, the star wide out will now spend the next two weeks without pay.
