Angels #1 In RCS MLB Power Averages

by Jeff Briggs

The Angels hold the top spot in the RCS MLB Power Averages heading into the last weekend of play. Joining the Angels in the top-four are the Rays, Red Sox, and Cubs; the same four teams have been in the top-five since mid-May.

The Yankees sit ninth, despite being eliminated from playoff contention already. The Dodgers, who have clinched the NL West, hold the 12th highest power average. That is no surprise, considering the two teams respective divisions.

The AL East was strong all year and holds rankings 2, 3, 9, 11, and 25. The NL West is on the other end of the spectrum, with teams ranked 12, 17, 23, 26, and 28.

The weaker teams clearly reside in the NL, as six of the bottom eight teams are from the senior circuit, while the AL is home to four of the top six.
