According to the Rockets' website, Dikembe Mutombo is 42 years old, but there has been constant jokes that he is much older than that. Now though, there seems to be another age discrepancy brewing on the other end of the spectrum. Just how old is Monta Ellis?
He is listed as 22 years old, but news from the San Francisco Chronicle makes me question that:
Monta Ellis was riding a moped when he severely injured his left ankle last month in his native Jackson, Mississippi...
So, as you can see Ellis is clearly somewhere between the ages of 13 and 16.
What wasn't reported is that he was caught with a pack of cloves and pleaded with his friends not to tell his parents about the accident for fear of being grounded.
In other injury news, Suns' Forward Amare Stoudemire might sit out practices next week with an ankle sprain. The Arizona Republic reports:
Stoudemire suffered a second-degree ankle sprain while scrimmaging in late July and recovered after rehabilitation. He aggravated the ankle in a pickup game among Suns players two weeks ago.
Well, Monta Ellis said he hurt his ankle playing pickup basketball as well, before coming clean. It made me wonder if Amare was in fact telling the truth. Then I saw this video:
That's Amare Stoudemire on Nickelodeon's Yo Gabba Gabba!
, a show for
those who self-medicate
kids. Dancy Dance Time looks pretty intense. He could have easily rolled an ankle doing his dance. Or maybe his ankle got messed up when his particles weren't arranged properly upon being beamed in or out. There hasn't been nearly enough research on the effects of beaming to know for sure.
