The RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages combine eight other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NBA on a weekly basis.
The LA Lakers remain undefeated, and remain the No. 1 team in the RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages, obtaining the top spot from seven of the eight sites used by RCS. Only one new team made its way into the top-10 this week, the Orlando Magic, rising from 12th into a tie for 9th. Falling out of the top-10 this week is the Raptors, who fell from 7th to 11th.
The big riser of the week are the Knicks, rising from 24th all the way up to 13th this week. Also rising up the rankings this week are the Kings, who rose from 30th to 21st this week, and the Heat (23rd to 15th). The Spurs are tumbling down the rankings, dropping from 14th to 25th. Joining the Spurs are their in-state mates, the Mavericks, who dropped from 11th to 19th in the rankings.
The two conferences are fairly even at the top, with five of the top-10 from the East, and five from the West. The weakest teams in the league reside in the West however, as they have five of the bottom six ranked teams, and seven of the bottom 10.
