Pistons Trade Billups and McDyess For Iverson

by Jeff Briggs

Several sources are beginning to report that the Detroit Pistons have agreed to deal Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess to the Denver Nuggets for Allen Iverson.

Billups and McDyess are both starters, and Billups was the NBA Finals MVP when the Pistons won the 2004 NBA Championship. This move gives the Pistons a top scoring option and should open up more playing time for Rodney Stuckey and Jason Maxiell. The Nuggets would add depth and much-needed defense after it became clear the Iverson and Carmelo Anthony experiment was not going to get them to the next level.
