The good news is that at least now we can all stop pretending the Titans are the NFL’s best team. Everyone kind of had to rank them number one, just because they were undefeated, which I suppose is fair. But let’s be honest – would you have actually picked them to beat the Giants? I don’t think so.
New York just went into Arizona, minus their man-crushing running back Brandon Jacobs and stud wideout Plaxico Burress, put up 37 points anyways, and beat a team that was previously 7-3 and undefeated at home. It’s here that it seems appropriate to remind that the Giants are 24-5 in their last 29 games.
The bad news is that if you thought the Brett Favre-love was bad before, consider that he now plays in New York City. And just beat the undefeated Titans. I’m sure the New York Post will be reserved and subtle in their headline. (And this is all before considering that a Giants-Jets Super Bowl is a seemingly real possibility. Shudder.)
But we’re not here to breakdown playoff possibilities for real teams – that’s just silly. We’re hear to highlight another wild week of fantasy football, where guys like Tyler Thigpen and Isaac Bruce can actually help you find your way into the postseason.
Week 13 had some scoring, didn’t it? 18 (real NFL) teams scored at least 20 points, including 11 with at least 30, and even three clubs with 45 points or more. We could have easily picked a Top 10 based on Sunday’s performances, but that would be more work for us, so instead we’re sticking just the one MVP and a list of the Top Five Performers.
