What To Watch: Weekend Edition

by Robbie Gillies

FRIDAY

5pm ET - ESPN2 - NCAA Basketball - #4 UCLA vs. Southern Illinois - The Bruins look to rebound after getting bounced to the consolation game by Michigan.

7pm - ESPN2 – NCAA Basketball: 2K Sports Classic Final – #5 Duke vs. Michigan - Can Michigan pull another upset to win the 2K Sports Classic?

7pm - ESPN – NBA: Rockets at Wizards - The Wizards are off to a horrible start (1-8), but they face the Rockets whose big three aren't completely healthy.

9:30pm - ESPN – NBA: Hornets at Thunder - What's wrong with the Hornets? I'm not sure, but playing the Thunder should help out a bit.

9:30pm - ESPN2 – NCAA Football: Fresno State at San Jose State - It's a battle for something like fourth place in the WAC! Truly must see TV.

Non-sports pick - 8pm - Bravo - Love Actually - Because it's almost time to get into the holiday spirit.

SATURDAY

12pm - ESPN – NCAA Football: West Virginia at Louisville - West Virginia must win to have a chance at the Big East title. They are a half game behind Cincinnati, but the Bearcats have the tiebreaker. Louisville is just looking to avoid sharing space with Syracuse in the basement of the Big East.

12pm - ABC – NCAA Football: Michigan at #10 Ohio State - Honestly, if you're watching this game, I'm going to give you some advice from Rich-Rod; get a life.

2:30pm - NBC - NCAA Football: Syracuse at Notre Dame - Syracuse coach Greg Robinson has been fired but will coach their final two games. Since he's going down he might as well try to take Charlie Weis with him, right?

3:30pm - CBS – NCAA Football: Mississippi at #18 LSU - The Tigers had to make a furious comeback against Troy last week and now face Ole Mis, who beat Florida earlier in the season.

3:30pm - ABC – NCAA Football: #15 Michigan State at #8 Penn State - If Penn State wins they're in the Rose Bowl. Michigan State has an outside chance if they win and Michigan upsets Ohio State.

OR Stanford at California

OR Boston College at Wake Forest

4pm - ESPN2 – NCAA Football: #9 Boise State at Nevada - A win by the Broncos would give them their sixth WAC title in seven years but more importantly, keep their hopes alive for a BCS bid.

7:15pm - ESPN2 – NCAA Football: #20 Pittsburgh at #19 Cincinnati - If Cincinnati wins they would then only have to beat Syracuse to win the Big East. If they lose there is the potential for a three-way tie and the tiebreaker in the Big East is BCS standing. With this loss, Pitt could move ahead of them in that category.

7:45pm – NCAA Football: Florida State at #22 Maryland - Maryland is 4-0 against ranked opponents this year and just 3-3 against non-ranked opponents. I guess the Seminoles are lucky they dropped out of the polls last week.

8pm - ABC – NCAA Football: #2 Texas Tech at #5 Oklahoma - If you're NOT watching this game you should get a life.

Non-sports pick - 4pm - Comedy Central - Bad Santa - Because maybe you're not ready to get into the holiday spirit.

SUNDAY

1pm - CBS – NFL - Check your local listings.

1pm - Fox – NFL - Which bad game do you get?

4pm - Fox – NFL - The majority of the country gets Giants-Cardinals.

7:30pm - ESPN2 - Puerto Rico Tip-Off, Championship - The winner of #12 Memphis vs. Seton Hall will play Xavier.

8:15pm - ESPN – NCAA Football: Connecticut at South Florida - Sunday is for the NFL, not college football.

8:15pm - NBC – NFL: Colts at Chargers - It's a huge game for both teams. The Chargers have to start gaining ground on the Broncos and the Colts are vying for wild card positioning.

Non-sports pick - 8pm - Fox - 24: Redemption - So, is he gonna be in Africa all season or will he be killing people with his bare hands on a plane for eight hours before he returns to the US?
