The RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages combine eight* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NBA on a weekly basis.
After two weeks out of the top spot, the Lakers are once again the #1 team in the RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages. The Magic came back to reality after their one week at the top and drop from the near consensus #1 to the consensus 4th best team (which sounds more accurate to me). Apart from that minor shuffling, the top-ten sees little change from last week's rankings and is comprised of the same 10 teams.
In fact, no teams made big movements this week, with no team moving more than four spots up or down. The teams rising the most in the rankings this week are the 76ers (16th to 12th) and the Timberwolves (21st to 17th). Moving down in the rankings were the Jazz (falling from 11th to 15th) and the Bulls (20th to 24th).
The West continues to show a large gap between the top and bottom, with seven of the top-ten teams (and nine of the top 15), as well as five of the six lowest ranked teams playing in the Western Conference.
*6 sites had posted their rankings for the week at the time the blog was published. Rankings will be updated as they become available.
