The RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages combine eight* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NBA on a weekly basis.
With wins over the Celtics and Cavs last week the Lakers are the unanimous choice as the #1 team in the RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages. Apart from a few small movements back and forth, the top ten remains unchanged from last week.
With little movement at the top of the rankings, we have to look in the middle to find the "hot" team - the New Jersey Nets, who moved up six spots, from 23rd to 17th.
At the bottom of the rankings we see a new last place team, as the Kings were selected unanimously as the league’s worst team.
Comparing the conferences, the East has three of the top five, but the West has seven of the top-ten ranked teams, and nine of the top 13 ranked teams. On the other end, the West has six of the eight lowest ranked teams.
*6 sites had posted their rankings for the week at the time the blog was published. Rankings will be updated as they become available.
