Devils Hold on to #1 in RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages

by Jeff Briggs

nhl%20ranks20.jpgThe RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages combine seven* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NHL on a weekly basis.

The Devils remain the #1 team in the RCS NHL Power Rankings for another week. In addition to having the same team at #1, this week sees the same top-10 teams as last week.

The different rankings sites continue to have a wide range of opinions on certain teams. The ranking differences can be seen all over, from the Blackhawks, ranked 6th by TSN and down at 14th by SI; to the Blues, ranked as high as 12th by SI and all the way down at 24th by Yahoo! The crazy part is that both arguments make sense. The Blues are one of the hotter teams recently, giving SI reason to rank them relatively high, but they are still only in 11th place in the Western Conference, so Yahoo!'s ranking of 24th is also reasonable.

*AOL rankings were not released for the week at the time of publication.
