Double Your Fun: NHL Captures Drama With Pair of Game Sevens

by Ryan Hudson

What's better than a Game Seven in the Stanley Cup Playoffs? Two Game Sevens, on the same night. Well, unless you're Martin Brodeur, of course.

I know nothing about hockey, so I won't pretend to offer any sort of analysis or breakdown, except for this: playoff hockey is awesome. It's 60 minutes of nerve-wracking, intense drama that's tough for any sport to match.

The Washington Capitals completed their comeback against the New York Rangers after being down 2-0 and 3-1 in the series, thanks to a Sergei Fedorov, a 39-year old Russian attacker, and Simeon Varlamov, a Russian goalie who just turned 21 two days ago.

Then, less than an hour later, the Carolina Hurricanes pulled off one of the more unbelievable endings you'll ever see in sports. OK, enough words, more videos.
