What to Watch: Weekend Edition

by Robbie Gillies

FRIDAY

7am ET - ESPN2 - Wimbledon, early rounds - You can also watch it live online.

5pm - ESPN2 - Wegmans LPGA, second round - I'm supposed to put something about the LPGA here...instead I just want to say how awesome Wegmans is. If you haven't been, I feel sorry for you. You're probably saying "But it's just a grocery store." And I say to you, clearly you've never been.

7pm - Versus - NHL Draft - Is the NHL Draft the least covered event, or is that still the MLB draft?

8pm - ESPN - Track: US Outdoor Championships - Read all about it.

Non-sports pick - 12am - ABC - Jimmy Kimmel Live - No, I'm not recommending it for Megan Fox (though that's an added bonus). David Cross will be on.

SATURDAY
8am - ESPN2 - Wimbledon, early round - Set the DVR and sleep in.

3pm - CBS - PGA: Travelers Championship, third round - Follow the leaderboard

3pm - ESPN2 - Wegmans LPGA, third round - Wegmans is huge. It just makes you want to run down the aisles and play Supermarket Sweep.

3pm - NBC - Wimbledon, early round - Some of this will be tape-delayed.

4pm - Fox – MLB: Red Sox @ Braves
OR Cubs @ White Sox
OR Angels @ Diamondbacks

7:30pm - ESPN - Track: US Outdoor Championships - OR watch it live online.

Non-sports pick - 7:15am - TCM - Alfred Hitchcock Marathon - It starts with Suspicion, then Rebecca, Spellbound, Marnie, Psycho, North by Northwest, Notorious, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Rear Window, Vertigo, and finally The 39 Steps. That my friends, is 24 hours of Hitchcock.

SUNDAY
1pm - NBC - Wimbledon, early round - Check out the latest scores.

1:30pm - TBS – MLB: Red Sox @ Braves - The Braves are 4-0 when Tommy Hanson starts.

2pm - ESPN - Confederations Cup Championship: USA vs. Brazil - The US lost to Brazil 3-0 during the first stage and one of the reasons the US made it to the semifinals is because Brazil beat Italy 3-0. Can the US shock the world again?

2pm - TNT - NASCAR: Lenox Industrial Tools 301 - Here's some random details about the event.

3pm - CBS - PGA: Travelers Championship, final round - More info on their website.

4pm - NBC - Track: US Outdoor Championships Watch it live online.

8pm - ESPN – MLB: Yankees @ Mets - Chien-Ming Wang will look for his first win of the season.

10pm - ESPN2 - MLS: Houston Dynamo @ LA Galaxy - Dynamo are the best team in MLS. The Galaxy are not.

Non-sports pick - 1pm - History Channel - Crash: The Next Great Depression? - They compare the most recent economic downturn to the Great Depression. What is similar and what is different. Sounds possibly depressing, but interesting at the same time.
