Former Carolina Star Retires

Former Panthers' linebacker Dan Morgan has decided to retire from the NFL for the second time, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Morgan was attempting a comeback with the New Orleans Saints after playing seven seasons (2001-2007) with the Panthers.

A first-round draft choice in 2001, Morgan's best season came in 2004 when he made 109 tackles and was named to the Pro Bowl.

His 452 career tackles ranks third in Carolina franchise history.
