Peppers Will Play For Panthers In 2009

Ending months of speculation, Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers confirmed on Friday that he will play for the Panthers in 2009.

The Carolina star notified teammates via text message that he will be present when the Panthers' training camp opens on August 2nd in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

This is great news for the Panthers, who will be defending their NFC South Championship this year after posting an impressive 12-4 record last season.

Peppers, the Panthers' franchise tag player, is one of the NFL's top defensive players and will make over $16 million this season.
