Carolina Signs Top Draft Pick

The Panthers and top draft pick Everette Brown reached agreement on a four-year deal today.

Brown will make over $4.25 million over four years, with $2.685 million of that guaranteed, including a $1.55 million signing bonus.

A 6-3, 255-pound defensive end out of Florida State, Brown had 13.5 sacks and 21.5 tackles for a loss for the Seminoles last season and should provide an immediate upgrade to the Panthers' pass rush.

The Panthers now have five of their seven 2009 draft choices signed and should have deals in place with the other two (defensive back Sherrod Martin and defensive tackle Corvey Irvin) within the next few days.
