Fox And Hurney Among Best Coach/GM Combos?

Are Carolina's John Fox and Marty Hurney among the best current Coach/GM combinations in the National Football League?

They are indeed, according to ESPN's resident NFL guru John Clayton, who recently rated the Panthers' Coach and GM as the third best Coach/GM combination in the 32-team league.

Clayton had this to say about Fox and Hurney: "They have been paired since 2002.  They've been to a Super Bowl.  They've been a playoff contender in the years Jake Delhomme has been healthy.  Last season, they bounced back to win 12 games and many consider them the favorites in the NFC South again.  Fox has the right personality as a head coach.  Players like playing for him.  Hurney is a deal-maker who identifies the best players on his team and locks them up with long-term contracts."

That's good, accurate analysis as usual by Clayton.

The Panthers' current Coach/GM combination IS one of the NFL's best.
