The defending NFC East champion New York Giants play host to the defending NFC South champion Panthers tonight in a preseason-opening matchup of teams that posted NFC-best 12-4 records last season.

Both teams are expected to be among the NFL's elite teams again this year.

The game will air on ESPN's Monday Night Football and will begin at 8 p.m. EDT.
