Smith Likely Out 2-4 Weeks

According to his agent, Panthers' star wide receiver Steve Smith is likely out for 2 to 4 weeks after injuring his right shoulder in a team practice Monday night.

Smith was injured in a collision with cornerback Chris Gamble just minutes into the evening workout, and while X-rays were negative, Smith will undergo an MRI later today to help give the team a better idea of the extent of his injury.

Smith's injury is the latest in what has been an injury-filled training camp for the Panthers, who have already lost defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu for the season with a torn achilles tendon.

Smith (78 pass receptions for 1,421 yards and six touchdowns last season) is a player that Carolina cannot afford to lose for any prolonged period of time.

Stay tuned Panthers/NFL fans....
