Eye of the Panther

Eagles Roll Past Panthers 38-10

The high-flying Philadelphia Eagles flew into Carolina and demolished the Panthers on Sunday, outplaying the mistake-prone Cats in every phase of the game, as they rolled to an easy 38-10 win.

Carolina opened the game with a 70-yard touchdown drive to take an early 7-0 lead, but it was all downhill from there for the Panthers...

Quarterback Jake Delhomme threw four interceptions, and fumbled once, committing five turnovers in a performance reminiscent of last season's playoff debacle against the Arizona Cardinals.

And the Panthers couldn't get their vaunted running game going either as an aggressive Philadelphia defense held DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart to just 72 yards in 25 carries.

In contrast, the Eagles played well, scoring touchdowns on offense, defense, and special teams as they completely overwhelmed the shell-shocked Cats. Donovan McNabb threw two touchdown passes and DeSean Jackson returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown in a 28-point second quarter explosion that blew the game wide open.

There's really nothing good to be said about this one from a Carolina perspective.  The Panthers self-destructed repeatedly and were completely outplayed in this game.

The Cats need to get their act together and they need to do it quickly...
