2010 NFL Mock Draft 12-8 Colt McCoy to the 49ers

Creating a mock draft before the college season starts is very difficult. My mock is a mix between what I think could happen and what I think should happen. I am 99 percent sure I will get every single pick wrong one way or another. The reason I created this is to give the viewers an idea of where I feel NFL teams will be picking next year and name some guys football fans should pay attention to during the 2009 college season.

8. Detroit Lions - Ciron Black, OT, LSU

The Lions can't be any worse than they were in 2009. I'm going to say I expect them to win about four to five games. They need to build a line that can protect their huge 2009 investment. Black is a tremendous pass blocker and would be an instant upgrade on the left side. With a talented young QB, RB, WR and TE, the Lions might have a shot of having an explosive offense in the near future.

9. Washington Redskins - Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State

The Redskins drafted two wide receivers early in the 2008 draft, hoping to find an explosive target opposite of Santana Moss. But both Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas are raw and injury prone. Randle El is getting older and needs to be replaced in the near future. Bryant is a big, athletic receiver that knows how to get open and make people miss. He could be a big-time target for Jim Zorn's offensive scheme.

10. San Francisco 49ers - Colt McCoy, QB, Texas

McCoy is a much better NFL prospect than most evaluators give him credit for. He is a very accurate passer and is great at making plays outside the pocket. He should have a great senior season and do very well at the combine. He is an intelligent leader and just the type of player coach Mike Singletary wants running his offense.

11. Tennessee Titans - Gerald McCoy, DT, Okalahoma

The Titans will miss run-stuffing specialist Albert Haynesworth even more than expected. McCoy probably won't turn out to be a Defensive MVP caliber player, but he will provide the ability to rush the passer and stuff running lanes.

12. Jacksonville Jaguars- Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois

The Jaguars have been in desperate need of a playmaking wide out since Jimmy Smith. An aging Torry Holt should provide an improvement for the mean time, but the team could really use a big athletic target like Benn. He is an explosive player that might be a little raw, but has the talent to be a big time player at the next level.
