Last week's waiver wire pitchers both had stellar starts. Mike Leake went six strong innings, allowing two runs and received the victory. Scott Olsen went 6 2/3 innings and allowed only one run in Colorado.
This week has two new pitchers who post a WHIP of 0.94 and one who leads the AL in ERA. Who are these diamonds in the ruff, only one way to find out.

2B Freddy Sanchez, who has been on the disabled list with shoulder and knee injuries, is expected to come to be activated this week. With a career average of .299, Fantasy owners looking for help, should put in a claim for the veteran.
Position Players: Outfielders:

A welcome surprise for the Cincinnati Reds, Jonny Gomes is playing very well. On the season, he has five home runs, 25 RBI and has scored 19 runs. He has an OPS of .856 and is hitting .303. In May, Gomes is hitting .400, with three home runs and 12 RBI. Only owned in 6% of ESPN leagues, he is a recommended pick up in mixed leagues.
Relief Pitcher: Manuel Corpas
With Huston Street out until early June, Corpas has taken over as the closer in Colorado. On the year, he is 1-2, with an ERA of 2.73. He is only allowing opposing hitters a .146 batting average. Those in need of saves and need a stopgap closer, should consider Corpas as a No. 2 closer.
