Last week I mentioned my habit of cutting down to bare bones on the defensive side of the ball in order to pick up offensive prospects going into next season. One nice bonus to this strategy is watching other owners drop their own prospects to pick up my discards. I have more success this way than trying to include my IDPs as sweeteners in trades.
This is also the time of year I will start looking seriously at IDP prospects for next year, especially on the defensive line. Expect more of those choices to appear in this column over the coming weeks.
Brandon Mebane, Seahawks - Mebane returns just in time from a lingering calf injury to shore up the Seahawks defensive line. Red Bryant just went on injured reserve and Colin Cole has an ankle sprain that will sideline him for a few weeks, so Mebane goes right back into the starting lineup. The way Seahawks DLs have been producing so far this year, I am about ready to recommend picking up anyone who is starting there this week...
