'Shogun' Rua undergoes knee surgery

Newly crowned UFC light heavyweight champion, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, recently underwent knee surgery for a torn ligament apparently suffered during his UFC 113 bout with Lyoto Machida.

Rua, 27, has now had three knee surgeries in the past 30 months and will most likely need some time off before making his first title defense against Rashad Evans.

The two fighters were looking at an October showdown most likely, however, now 'Shogun' will need at least five weeks to recover and probably another month before he can start training like he was before. Again, this is all speculative but here's hoping the new champion can recover and come back 100%.
