I just popped onto the Mets official site to see what other candidates they had picked out of baseball's big trash can and I see a picture of Wally Backman with a blurb under Mets news that he is to interview with Omar Minaya in St. Louis.

Well what do you know? I really didn't think Backman would get an interview, and I still don't think they'll give him the job since the Wilpons are entrenched in a fine tradition of hiring cast offs and other team's garbage.
