Meeting With Delgado Went Well
According to the Mets official website they are saying that things went well yesterday in negotiations for free agent first baseman Carlos Delgado.
Here's what his agent had to say on the Mets Site:
"Everything went extremely well," Delgado's agent, David Sloane, wrote in an e-mail. "Having Jeff Wilpon join us for this meeting made it possible to discuss the issues regarding our respective proposals that we felt needed clarification."
Wait hold on now-Jeff Wilpon was involved? Of course Delgado's agent was happy he was there-he's an idiot. I still think he's a moron and knows nothing about baseball, his father has finally seen the light and is doing much better, but Jeff doesn't know a baseball from a moth ball.
This is the genius who insisted the Mets sign Kaz Matsui based on his TALENT when we already had a talented young shortstop who they were touting as the newest young superstar.
I rest my case. Stick to playing with your skyscrapers Jeff-OK? Thanks. Why he is involved in going to meet with Delgado is beyond me, I was surprised that Fred Wilpon was not there like he was when they were courting Pedro Martinez and Beltran. I don't know what Junior was doing there but hopefully for those of you that are rooting for the Mets to get Delgado-just hope he doesn't ruin it somehow.
Sloane is supposed to meet with the Texas Rangers today. Stay tuned kids.............
