Dramatic Win In Arizona Mets 9 - Diamondbacks 4
The Mets certainly love to play in Arizona, this was their 11th consecutive victory there, I wish I could have seen the whole game, these later start times during the week leave me baseball deprived.
I only saw the first two innings, aside from Glavine giving up one run what I did manage to see was pretty uneventful. It seems all of the action went on after I went to bed.
Here is what I did hear about this morning though-Beltran hit his 7th home run, and the Mets were down 4-3 going into the ninth inning. I was glad to hear that Aaron Heilman who got the win had a good outing in relief of Glavine who went six innings.
The fun started in the top of the ninth, Shawn Green hit a ground ball that should have been handled by former Met Tony Clark at first base. This set the stage for what would become another heroic situation for Damion Easley who hit a three run home run off the Diamondbacks closer.
Then David Wright who is finally breaking out of his slump hit his second home run, another three run shot off Dustin Nippert who replaced the Diamondback's closer Valverde.
Tonight should be interesting-John Maine takes on Randy Johnson who is 0-1 with an inflated 6.55 ERA
