With two weeks left in the Men's Basketball season, seeds are still up for grabs. Washington State and Oregon might be the only teams in the conference that don't have a shot at winning the tournament. The #2 seed and the #4 and #5 seed will have very difficult match-ups once the tournament begins. If the standings stay the same #2 ASU would face #7 Oregon State. Over the last few weeks OSU has played very well. The Beavers beat Cal 80-64 and got past Arizona 63-55. Against ASU the Beavers lost by 10 and 9 points. It is very difficult to beat any team 3 times in one season and ASU could be faced with that task.
The #4 vs. #5 contest should be the most entertaining game on the 2nd day of the tournament. If the standings remain the same that game could be Arizona vs. UCLA. The Bruins started the season off slowly, but they have beaten California and Arizona State who are both currently in 1st and 2nd place in the Pac Ten. If UCLA or Arizona advanced to the next round neither team would be intimidated to play California. Both UCLA and Arizona would be playing with a great sense of urgency, because winning this tournament would be their only chance to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The next couple of weeks should be very exciting as PacTen teams fight for a good position in the Pac Ten Tournament.
