Can Gable Be The Trojans #1 RB?

pac10-08-icon-usc.gifJoe McKnight and Stafon Johnson will be selected in next month's NFL Draft. Now Lane Kiffin must figure out who he will depend on at RB for the 2010 season. Kiffin will rely heavily on the ground game next season. At Tennessee the top two RB's Montario Hardesty and Byrce Brown had 331 combined carries. The three RB's that will be competing for playing time are Allen Bradford, C.J. Gable and Marc Tyler. Incoming freshmen RB Dillon Baxter will also be in the mix. The key for the RB position will be to remain healthy.

In 2008 Gable had 107 carries for 617 yards and 8 TD's. C.J. must compete and play hard in Spring Practices and when practice begins in the fall to solidify a spot in the RB rotation. Gable has the talent, but he must fight and compete for the opportunity. In 2009 Allen Bradford rushed for 668 yards and 8 TD's. Also FB Stanely Havili is talented enough to carry the ball and make catches out of the backfield. The top two backs for the Trojans will receive the bulk of the carries in 2010.
