The Huskies Advance

In this game you had the Washington Huskies from the Pac Ten conference that had it's name dragged through the mud all season against Marquette from the best conference in the country the Big East. A lot of people felt that the Pac Ten only deserved one team in the NCAA Tournament. The Pac Ten's reputation was on the line in this game and Washington came up with a big win. The #11 Huskies upset the # 6 Golden Eagles 80-78. The one thing Washington has that is essential to being successful in the NCAA Tournament is great guard play. Isaiah Thomas scored 19 points, Venoy Overton had 8 points and played terrific defense and Elston Turner went 4/5 from three-point land. Washington out rebounded Marquette 26-21. Now Washington will attempt to advance to the Sweet Sixteen when they play New Mexico on Saturday.
