UW Falls To West Virginia

pac10-08-icon-wash.gifAfter qualifying for the Sweet Sixteen last week the University of Washington lost 69-56 to West Virginia tonight. The first half of the game was very competitive. Washington led the game 29-27 at the half, but the Huskies were outscored 42-27 in the second half of the game. The Huskies got destroyed on the boards in this game. The Mountaineers out-rebounded Washington 41-25. The Huskies would have loved to advance to the Final Eight, but the Washington program did a remarkable job of winning the Pac Ten Tournament and advancing to the Sweet Sixteen. The key for Washington's success next season will be getting their key players to return next season. If Isaiah Thomas, Elston Turner and Abdul Gaddy all return next season the Huskies will have the best three-guard rotation in the Pac Ten. The Huskies need some inside help to be one of the best teams in the country for the 2010-2011 season.
