Mike Leach has accepted the position to become the next head coach of the Washington State Cougars. In ten seasons Leach took Texas Tech to ten bowl games and the Red Raiders had 84 victories. Mike Leach had an offense at Texas Tech that led the Nation in passing six times. Leach will bring a dynamic passing offense to the Cougars and in time Washington State will be a team in the Pac-12 that other programs will not want to face. There is some offensive talent on the roster for Leach to work with in the 2012 season. The Cougars have two quality QB's in Jeff Tuel and Connor Halliday. Next season Halliday will be a Sophomore and this year Connor threw 9 TD's for 961 yards and had a QB rating of 156.7 . Freshmen RB Ricky Galvin averaged 5.3 YPC, rushed for 602 yards, caught 28 balls and finished the year with 6 TD's. WR Marcus Wilson was named to the All Pac-12 2nd team. Wilson finished the year with 82 catches, 1,388 yards and 12 TD's. Washington State has not been to a bowl since they defeated the Texas Longhorns 28-20 in the Holiday Bowl in 2003. When Mike Leach gets his offense the way he wants it Washington State will be going to bowl games on a yearly basis.
