Brown a Dunk Contest Must

Shannon Brown dunk.jpgWhen your nickname is 'The Human Trampoline' you belong in the dunk contest. So far, Shannon Brown has not been invited and it's a travesty! Actually I don't really know if anyone has technically been invited yet, but Brown deserves an invite. I'm not sure how creative Brown is but his in-game dunks are the most impressive in the NBA. As a Lakers fan I might be a bit biased but he definitely has to be up there with Josh Smith, LeBron James, and Dwight Howard.

Brown is the ideal candidate for the competition. At 6'4 his dunks look much more impressive than the likes of Dwight Howard. And he hasn't shied away from the idea. He says he'd love to be in it and of course adds that right now he's just concentrating on winning games. Why do athletes need to throw in that line? I think we get that by now.

What's more intriguing is this dunk contest could feature a rematch of the 2003 McDonald's All-American dunk contest. LeBron James, who has said he would enter the contest this year, and Shannon Brown competed against each other in 2003. LeBron won, although Brown had no chance after he missed an attempt at a windmill dunk twice.

As good as Brown has been with his in-game dunks, apparently he's even more spectacular in practice. It's time for the Lakers to begin their online campaign. It can begin with videos like this:
