Ok so just 2 games back but just 1 in the loss column (which is really what's important). Not too shabby for the Men in Teal. Big 3 game set in St. Louis begins tonight. Tonight is a matchup of 2 very good lefties in Scott Olsen (10-7, 4.42) and Mark Mulder (6-6, 6.77). 8:05 at Busch Stadium

Logan Kensing (elbow) is likely done for the season. Kensing felt pain in his elbow while playing catch on Monday and immediately booked an appointment to visit orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. Tommy John surgery is a distinct possibility for the reliever.
The shocking part isn't that he is gong to miss the rest of the season, rather the fact that he is making a visit to Dr. Andrews and thats never a good thing. Hopefully TJ surgery isnt in his future, otherwise we won't be seeing Logan pitch again till 2008 (along with Carlos Martinez).
Miguel Cabrera and San Francisco Giants pitcher Noah Lowry were named co-recipients of the National League Player of the Week honor for Aug. 21-27. In six games -- all victories -- Cabrera batted .409 with three homers, nine RBI and a league-leading 22 total bases. One of those home runs was the 100th of his career, making the 23-year-old the sixth-youngest player in history to reach that milestone."It kind of surprised me,'' said Cabrera, who won the award once last season.
Yea, safe to say that if the Marlins make the postseason, the Marlins got themselves the MVP in Miguel Cabrera.

In other news, Josh Johnson lowered his major league leading ERA to 2.87. Chris Carpenter of the Cardinals (who we won't be seeing) is at 2.96 and Johan Santana of the Twins is at 3.01.
