Game #90: Marlins @ Diamondbacks

Chase Field - 4:10 PM - Josh Johnson vs Doug Davis

Josh Johnson rebounded from a bit of a rough outing by his standards and brought the Marlins into the break on a good note. He went 6.2 one run innings and led his team to an 8-1 victory.

Emilio Bonifacio: 1-4, 2 R, BB, 2 K - Has looked so much better since June 24. Back then, his OPS was .578. Now it is .628. He's now only swinging at pitches out of the zone 28.6% of the time. Back in may, that number was in the 40% range. League average is 25%.

Josh Johnson: 6.2 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K - Lowered his ERA to 2.74 and will head to St. Louis with the sixth best ERA and the seventh best WHIP on both All-Star rosters. The game falls on his throw day so we should see him for at least an inning then. His normal routine is 25 pitches.

Cody Ross: 2-4, 3 RBI, BB, K - Doubled his July RBI count by driving in three. Considering that Josh Hamilton made the All-Star Game, Ross could have made it over Shane Victorino solely based on slugging percentage, about the only thing Hamilton has done right this season. The rest of his numbers are well below league average.
