Where is the Cardinal's Offense?

The Cardinals scored seven runs Monday night in their 7-3 victory over Houston. Seven runs are a huge output for the Cardinals these days.

St. Louis' offense has been a real funk for some time. That is hard to imagine with the likes of Albert Pujols, Matt Holliday, Ryan Ludwick and Mark DeRosa in their lineup.

Cardinal fans hope they crank up the offense soon. They have about two weeks to go on a positive streak before the playoffs. If the Cardinals could score 11 or 12 runs in two consecutive games, then that might spark the offensive revival.

Thankfully the Cardinals' pitching staff has been quite stellar down the stretch. This has allowed St. Louis to win some low-scoring games.

But Tony LaRussa is probably fretting over when this potential killer lineup will start doing some real damage. If it doesn't, maybe the postseason will be short for the Cardinals.

Do you think it's time to panic about the Cardinal offense?
