NHL Playoff Preview: Canadiens vs. Bruins

Since I, nor most anyone I know follows hockey religiously I asked someone who does to take a look at the upcoming hockey playoffs. For this I turned to my roommate John, who not only follows hockey, but may be the only person alive who subscribes to the NHL Center Ice package.

#1 Montreal Canadiens vs. #8 Boston Bruins
(Season Series - Montreal Leads 8-0)

The Canadiens have dominated the Bruins over the past 2 seasons, including an 8-0 series shellacking this year in which the Canadiens outscored the Bruins 39 to 16. This series pins together two teams shifting in opposite directions. The Canadiens have to be considered one of the favorites to win it all, especially after being the best team in the East the last half of the season. On the flip side, the Boston Bruins have limped into the playoffs, collecting only 5 wins in their last 14 games. They also hold the distinguished honor of being the only team advancing to the postseason with more goals against then goals for (212 GF - 222 GA). The Canadiens are the quickest team from top to bottom in the East. They skate hard, they hit hard, and they play defense. The Bruins are outmatched in every category; I don’t see this going longer then 4 or 5 games.

Prediction:

Canadiens in 5 games.
