This award would have gone to Brandon Marshall if he had in fact slipped on a McDonald's wrapper that resulted in him smashing his hand through a TV. But, he admitted he had done it wrestling with family members. That admission paved the way for Tigers 3rd baseman Brandon Inge who is being put on the disabled list after getting injured moving a _______. Just try and guess. Moving a bat from his locker? Moving a recliner to be able to see the TV better? Moving Miguel Cabrera (alright, that one would injure a lot of people). Give up? Moving a pillow!
Inge had injured his oblique muscle awhile back and the Detroit Free Press reports:
Inge said he aggravated the injury moving a pillow for his three-year-old Monday night. He said if not for that mishap, he probably would have tried to continue to play with the injury, which he said has bothered him since he suffered it on June 1 in Seattle.
Told of Inge's account of the pillow, Tigers manager Jim Leyland said, "That's a first."
At least they won't be missing much. Inge is batting just .215 this season. Get some rest, but be careful.
