Some Athletes Just Don't Know When To Hang It Up

This actually isn't a post about Brett Favre. Newsday reports Allan Houston will attempt yet another comeback.

Now that Houston has had ample rest and time to recover from the knee injuries that plagued him the last couple years of his career, Houston said he is feeling great and wants to show teams in September he can still perform at a high level.

"I don't know where it's going to be, but I'm looking forward to it," Houston said. "I think the biggest thing is, I wanna be somewhere where I can be a good fit."

Alright, if anyone needs to go to Europe, it's Allan Houston. I'm sure there's some team that would pay him a couple million a year. Houston is having delusions of playing a role like PJ Brown played on the Celtics last year. At 38 years old, Brown played a pivotal role for the Celtics coming off the bench. He contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds, hitting all four of his shots in the Celtics Game 7 win over the Cavs including hitting a clutch jumper with under two minutes remaining.

Houston will be 38 in April and probably sees himself as a Brent Barry-type player, that could come off the bench and add some outside shooting. But Houston hasn't played in a regular season game since 2005. It's time to move on, Allan.
