They Can Play and They Try To Write: Athlete Blog Wrap-Up

Some athletes, not satisfied with being better at a specific skill-set than 99% of the world, choose to blog as well. This is a look at their latest efforts.

Anytime Gilbert Arenas has a new entry, it's a special day here at the Athlete Blog Wrap-Up, but that is especially true today. In his blog last night, Gilbert tells the world that he is now engaged and how he did it. Apparently, Arenas has never asked a girl out in his life:

I have this statistic that I’ve never, ever asked a girl out and I didn’t want to change that. Never, ever. In life. I was like, man, I got to keep this streak going.

Gil wrote "Will you marry me?" on a paper, but above that put "Read out loud." Then when he hands it to her, he makes her read it out loud:
So she goes, “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” out loud so everybody could hear her.

It worked. It turns out she ended up asking me to marry her.

I was like, “Oh my God!!!” and started screaming like the girl who gets asked normally does.

“I can’t believe you asked me!!!! Of course I will!!! Oh my God, it’s been six long years, what took you so long???!!!??? Oh my God!!! This is unbelievable!!!!”

Arenas continues to blog about the engagement and a few other things. Certainly an enjoyable read, still the best athlete blog out there.

Chris Cooley is looking for the best Redskins license plates in America, and is excited about the win over the Cowboys.

Annika Sorenstam is back to competition after three weeks off.
