Chad Johnson Ocho Cinco Johnson Is Back!

I'm still not sure what he wants to be called or if anyone really cares anymore, but Chad is back to his old ways. He has just 11 catches for 119 yards through the first four games this season and it seemed like his ego had taken a big hit. The Bengals are 0-4 and lost the battle of Ohio to the Browns this past Sunday. But Chad did get into the end zone. When he scored it looked like he was going to do something. I really thought he had a celebration ready but instead he handed the ball to the official and moved on. What happened to the Chad Johnson we used to know? The one that thought he could beat Michael Phelps in the pool or the one that does the river dance? Well, looks like he's back. From Dallas Morning News:

Johnson: "I've got so much respect for y'all, if I score Sunday, I've love Dallas so much, I'm going to take my helmet off, get a fine and kiss the star."

Q: The one at midfield?

A: Midfield? That's a long [expletive] jog.

Q: What do you mean 'if?'

A: OK, when I score, I'm going to take my helmet off and kiss the star. Can I do that?

Q: Why not?

A: That's not a sign of disrespect. That's a good thing isn't it?

Maybe this is just what he needs to get back to form. The weakest part of the Cowboys is their pass defense and if Palmer is healthy and Chris Henry can contribute in what could be his first game back, maybe, just maybe the Bengals can cover the spread...

UPDATE: What I initially read as trash-talking is actually pleading for a new home. Chad DOES love Dallas. From Dallas Morning News (via PFT):

“Let me tell you, I don’t mean to be funny . . . . I’m not tried to be rude or piss anybody off, but if I was in Dallas, they would have to change all of our damn games to pay-per-view because you need to pay to see that [bleep]. I’m serious. I’m so serious. They would have to put all the games on pay-per-view. Because you can’t just watch a show like that for free; 81 and 85? Come on, now. Please...Tell Jerry Jones I said hello, and give me a call some time."

I don't know if the games would have to be pay-per-view but the press conferences would be entertaining enough.
