Matt Ryan (Falcons) – Matt Ryan took a huge step forward in his campaign for Rookie of the Year. He had his first 300-yard passing game and more importantly led his team to an improbable come from behind win against the Bears. Matt Ryan’s pass to Michael Jenkins with 6 seconds left was absolutely perfect. He hit Jenkins in the only spot he was open that would get him out of bounds with one second left. Elam would hit the field goal and the Falcons improve to 4-2 and are tied atop the NFC South.
Jerod Mayo (Patriots) – Mayo led the Pats with 7 tackles but they were destroyed 30-10 by the Chargers.
Joe Flacco (Ravens) – Flacco continues to be accurate but when he’s not they’ve been costly. Flacco completed 28 of 38 passes but three of those incompletions were intercepted. Flacco is second in the NFL with 7 interceptions this season.
Aqib Talib (Buccaneers) - Talib picked off Jake Delhomme in the fourth quarter off a tipped pass. He became only the second rookie this season to have at least 2 interceptions.
Felix Jones (Cowboys) – Jones strained his hamstring early in the 3rd quarter and will likely be out a couple weeks.
Jordy Nelson (Packers) – Nelson has worked his way in as a good third option for Aaron Rodgers. He ranks fifth in receiving yards amongst rookies and had 4 catches for 42 yards against the Seahawks.
Curtis Lofton (Falcons) – Lofton continues to rack up tackles and again led the Falcons with 8 of them against the Bears. He leads all rookies with 39 tackles.
Matt Forte (Bears) – Forte continues to prove to be a great pick for the Bears. He leads all non QB rookies with 76.5 yards per game. He contributes both in the run and the passing game. Forte had 5 catches for 34 yards and 76 yards on the ground including a 3-yard TD run.
DeSean Jackson (Eagles) – Even with Kevin Curtis coming back, the Eagles can’t cut the play of Jackson. Jackson had 6 catches for 98 yards in a win against the 49ers. He’s 11th in the league with 433 receiving yards.
Ray Rice (Ravens) – Rice has had limited action this season but put up good stats against the Colts in a blowout loss. Rice only had 23 rushing yards but had 7 catches for 64 yards
Kevin Smith (Lions) – Smith has seen his carries cut back as the Lions have worked Rudi Johnson into the starting role. But Smith showed he is still valuable. He had 62 rushing yards on just 5 carries including a 50-yard run that led to a field goal.
Chris Horton (Redskins) – Horton led the Skins with 10 tackles on Sunday in a loss against the Rams. Horton has been a huge steal for the Skins as he was the fourth to last pick in the Draft.
