Undefeated Titans New #1 In RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages

nfl%20ranks7.jpgThe RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages combine nine* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NFL on a weekly basis.

It makes sense that as the only remaining undefeated team, the Titans have climbed to the No. 1 spot in the RCS Power Ranking Averages. New to the top-10 this week are the Colts, climbing from 13th to 8th, and the Cardinals, moving from 14th to 9th. Falling out of the top-10 are the Broncos (8th to 12th) and Bears (9th to 19th).

After six weeks of play, the bottom and the top of the rankings are starting to take shape across all the various power ranking sites, but the teams in the middle remain as big of a muddled mess as ever. The Cardinals, Falcons, Jets, Patriots, Chargers, Colts, and Jaguars all have ranking standard deviations near or above four ranking spots. The Jags are the most confusing team, ranked as high as 7th and 8th, and as low as 25th.

The teams dropping off the most from Week 6 to Week 7 are the Bears, who dropped from 9th to 19th, and the Ravens, who fell from 16th to 24th. The big riser this week was the Chargers, moving from 18th to 11th.

The NFC East continues to be the top conference, despite going 1-3 last week, with teams ranked 2nd, 6th, 7th, and 13th. The NFC West may no longer be the the weakest division, with teams now ranked 9th, 25h, 27th, and 28th; the NFC North teams are ranked 19th, 20th, 21st, and 32nd.

*Fox Sports has not updated their rankings for this week.
