The firing of NBA head coaches began over the weekend with the dismissal of P.J. Carlesimo from the Thunder after a 1-12 start, and it has continued today: the Wizards have axed head coach Eddie Jordan.
A 1-10 start to the 2008/2009 season has cost Washington Wizards head coach Eddie Jordan his job, according to sources close to the team.
Team President Ernie Grunfeld informed Jordan of his decision to change coaches in a Monday morning meeting.
Assistant coach Ed Tapscott, who once was head coach at American University, will take over on an interim basis, sources tell WTOP.
In five full seasons Jordan guided the Wizards to four playoff appearances, including a second round appearance in 2005. In each of the last two seasons the Wizards made the playoffs despite injuries to All-Stars Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler.
At least now he'll have plenty of time to visit Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.
