Giants New #1 In RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages

nfl%20ranks13.jpgThe RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages combine nine* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NFL on a weekly basis.

The Giants continued to look impressive and the Titans were handed their first loss of the year, making the Giants the consensus #1 team in the RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages this week.

The Titans dropped one spot to number two, right above the team that handed them their first loss, the Jets. There is only one new team to the top ten this week, the Patriots, who rose from 11th into a tie for 9th. Falling out of the top ten were the Cardinals, who fell from 7th to 11th.

The biggest leap in the rankings this week was only four spots, and we saw five teams do just that - the Raiders (31st to 27th), the Bills (22nd to 18th), the Saints (20th to 16th), the Vikings (19th to 15th), and the Bears (18th to 14th). Falling the furthest down the rankings this week were the Packers (13th to 19th) and the Eagles (15th to 21st).

Despite the Eagles’ plummet, the NFC East is still the highest rated division in football with teams ranked 1st, 5th, 9th, and 21st. Both west divisions continue to be horrible, with the NFC West having an average power ranking of 23.68, but the AFC West holding to the title of "Most Awful Division Ever" with an average ranking of 24.43 and no team ranked above 20th.

*Covers and SI's Dr.Z must have taken an early Thanksgiving break, as they did not come out with new rankings this week, thus the averages are composed of 7 sites' power rankings this week.

: Power rankings from Covers have now been included, altering the numbers referenced in the blog entry.
