Matt Ryan (Falcons) – Ryan has become a QB to consider in deep fantasy leagues. It seems like every week he is having the best game of his season. Ryan was 17 for 22 for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns. He and the Falcons pretty much shut down the passing game in the second half and just dominated the clock with the Raiders offense being completely inept.
Jerod Mayo (Patriots) – Mayo led the Pats with 11 tackles but he couldn’t match up against the Colts’ TE Dallas Clark. Clark and Manning have too good of a connection for Mayo to be able to stop.
Joe Flacco (Ravens) – This past week I picked up the Browns defense…that was a big mistake. Flacco had his first 2 touchdown game of the season while completing about 60% of his passes for 248 yards.
Chris Johnson (Titans) – It’s between Johnson and Falcons’ Matt Ryan for Rookie of the Year as they both had great games to lead their teams to victory Sunday. Johnson had 161 total yards including 45 of their final 55 to set up the field goal that won it in overtime.
Eddie Royal (Broncos) – Royal remains the sole bright spot in a sinking season for the Broncos. Royal had 7 catches for 69 yards and had a 95-yard kick return that set up his 2-yard touchdown reception.
Matt Forte (Bears) – Rex Grossman and the Bears owe their win against the Lions to Matt Forte. Trailing 23-13, Orton got injured and Grossman came in and threw 9 for 19 for 58 yards and an interception yet the Bears won 27-23. That’s because Forte had 126 yards on just 22 carries including 40 of 54 yards on the game-winning drive.
Ray Rice (Ravens) – Rice’s previous high in rushing yards was 64 but he smashed that by running for 154 yards on 21 carries against the Browns.
Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) – Charles becomes another rookie RB to rush for 100 yards this season. He had 18 carries for 106 yards against a usually stout Bucs’ rush defense. Now with Kolby Smith injured and Larry Johnson in the doghouse, Charles should continue to get more carries.
Kevin Smith (Lions) – Smith had just 37 rushing yards on 14 carries but did score his 4th touchdown of the season as the Lions fell to 0-8.
Steve Slaton (Texans) – Slaton had 118 total yards for the Texans but averaged just under 4 yards per carry as the Texans three-game winning streak came to an end.
Tim Hightower (Cardinals) – Hightower finally got the chance to get the bulk of the carries and he didn’t disappoint. He has fantasy managers scrambling to pick him off the waiver wire after his 22 carry, 109 yard and a touchdown performance against the Rams. But keep in mind it was against the Rams.
Peyton Hillis (Broncos) – Hillis had a total of 18 yards heading into Sunday. On Sunday he led the Broncos with 7 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. With weapons like Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal, don’t expect anything close to this type of production from Hillis probably ever again.
