The RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages combine seven other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NHL on a weekly basis.
The San Jose Sharks remain the #1 team in the RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages for the third week in a row.
Two new teams enter the top-ten this week, as we see the Capitals rise from 11th to 6th, and the Canucks move from 12th to 9th. Falling out of the top-ten was the Sabres, falling from 4th to 11th, and the Blackhawks, falling from 8th to 12th (although, both teams average ranking is less than half a ranking spot behind that of the teams tied for 9th place).
A week after being two of the teams dropping the most spots, the Predators and the Flyers both shot up the rankings this week, moving from 23rd and 22nd respectively all the way up into a tie for 14th. Not so hot this week was the Sabres, as well as the Senators, who fell from 17th to 24th, and the Lightning, who plummeted from 18th all the way down to 29th.
The NHL continues to have several different opinions amongst the rankers. Almost half, 13 of the 30 NHL teams, have a range of eight ranking spots or higher.
