The RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages combine eight* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NBA on a weekly basis.
The Celtics and the Cavs are the consensus #1 and #2 teams in the RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages. The Magic have managed to split votes for 3rd with the Lakers, cracking a top 3 that has been unchanged for over a month. One team fell out of the top ten this week, the Mavericks, who dropped from 9th to 12th. Taking their spot are the Trail Blazers, who moved up from 11th to 8th.
At the bottom of the rankings, one win over the Raptors managed to catapult the Thunder out of the basement, up to 29th. They are replaced by the T-Wolves, who have yet to win under coach Kevin McHale. The Raptors meanwhile dropped 6 spots, the most of any team, from 19th to 25th, due to their lackluster week. The Raptors are ranked as high as 21st by Fox and Hoops World, but NBA.com dropped the Raptors all the way to 30th, with the explanation, "We're sticking the rule we established a few weeks ago: When you lose to the Thunder, you're No. 30." Harsh but fair.
